Role of the Governing Body:

The main role of the governing body is to support the Headteacher and the staff through taking a strategic approach to the schools operations and by seeking excellence across the entire spectrum of school life.


Our legal duties include:

  • Setting strategic direction, policies and objectives
  • Approving the school budget
  • Reviewing progress against the schools budget and development plan
  • Appointing, supporting and challenging the Headteacher.


The governing body as a whole meet 5 times a year to review specific activities such as curriculum, finance, buildings and personnel.
