Far Forest Lea MemorialCE Primary School
The children, staff and governors of Far Forest Lea Memorial CE Primary Academy welcome you to our happy school. We are a Church of England School that believes in providing a richness of opportunities, where every child’s talents can be nurtured and celebrated.
Our Vision and Values
Our Far Forest family welcomes everybody as a unique child known to God. We nurture and provide opportunities for our pupils to grow into caring, compassionate and confident individuals, supporting all on their journey.
Feed my Lambs , John 21: 15-17
Our school’s distinctively Christian vision is theologically-rooted in the Parable of ‘The Good Shepherd’ (John 10:1-18 and John 21:15-17), where everyone is precious and every member of our school community will go to great lengths to ensure every child is loved and cared for as part of our school family; never giving up on individuals regardless of how they look or act, just as God has compassion for every person. Our vision is at the forefront of all decision-making for every strategy, policy and rationale. Spiritual development for pupils and adults is well planned and of high quality so that the whole school community is engaged on a journey of discovery.
Our school vision supports our core values of; 'Nurture, Care, Forgive' .
Nurture We value all children as individuals, regardless of their backgrounds, helping them to flourish and fulfill their unique God-given potential. All children are loved and valued for who they are.
Care is shown through our inspiring curriculum design, encouraging all children to care about others and themselves. We seek to educate the whole child, not only pursuing academic excellence but to support children to become well-rounded individuals.
Forgiveness is modelled and taught through our curriculum and day to day lives. We encourage children to show empathy and compassion, just like Jesus showed us.
Far Forest...
We want each child to:
thrive
feel safe and secure
develop confidence in everything they do
have empathy and an understanding of people and the world around them
be independent learners
be full of aspiration
We achieve this through creating a climate where pupils are nurtured and are surrounded by an inspiring curriculum. We ensure we support the needs of all their in providing support, guidance which excites the learner’s curiosity.
Everyone is part of driving the learning and ambition which ensures all pupils succeed both in school and in life afterwards.
Working in partnership with our families has created a school community which is aspirational and has a strong family ethos in which everyone is valued and respected.
Our Pledge...
We are proud to be a member of Severn Academies Educational Trust (SAET) and collectively, we are fully committed to securing outstanding educational opportunities for ‘our’ children. We maintain close links and collaborate extensively with the Diocese and clergy plus our Church of England partner schools within Severn Academies Educational Trust (Hartlebury, Wilden All Saints and St Bartholomews).
At Far Forest Primary, our staff provide a welcoming environment where all children develop self- discipline through our caring Christian ethos. We have created a positive culture and climate at our school so that everyone is a part of God’s special family where we show love and care for everyone around us.
Spiritual Development
Spiritual development differs from person to person and is a very personal experience. Spirituality is not the same as having a religion or faith; a person can be spiritual without having a particular faith.
At Far Forest Primary we define spirituality as something we feel in ourselves and not something we can see. It embraces awe and wonder and an enquiring mind, inspiring us to care for nature and all living things and being aware of both ourselves and others, and something bigger outside of ourselves.
Spiritual development enables all of us to grow in mind, body and spirit to live life in all its fullness, learning from ‘marvellous mistakes’ and enjoying and embracing special ‘light bulb’ moments. The children at our school have collective worship every day.
The theme of our worship is planned around our core values of Nurture, Care and Forgiveness. These values were chosen by the children, staff, parents and governors and we aim to 'live these values' everyday.
We have very close links with our local Parish Church of Holy Trinity in Far Forest and members of the
clergy who are regular visitors to the school. Members of our community join us when we visit our church for special festivals such as Celebration, Christmas and Easter.
All children at our school attend a daily act of worship every day and all adults at least once a week. Collective Worship celebrates the love of God for every individual and provides opportunities for pupils and adults to reflect and respond, experiencing emotions such as sharing happiness, sorrow, excitement, anticipation, through activities such as singing, listening, laughing, praying and reflecting on a theme.
